Official Records Contacts

For a local arrest, ask the Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office for the person’s last custody event and the actual holding agency. The current county page lists Sheriff Cody Beeson at 212 E. Washington, P.O. Box 613, St. Francis, KS 67756-0613, phone 785-332-8880, and email sheriff@cncoks.us. It does not publish office hours or identify that courthouse address as an operating jail, so confirm availability before visiting.

The Cheyenne County Clerk can route Kansas Open Records Act requests at 212 E. Washington, P.O. Box 985, St. Francis, KS 67756-0985, phone 785-332-8800, and sandrist@cncoks.us. The county lists regular business hours as 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Those general hours do not establish when custody staff answer or when releases occur.

Court orders and case dispositions come from the Cheyenne County District Court. Clerk Angela Sundstrom is listed at P.O. Box 646, 212 E. Washington, St. Francis, KS 67756, phone 785-332-8850 and fax 785-332-8851. For state-sentence calculations, use the Kansas Department of Corrections Sentence Computation Unit at 785-296-3317. KASPER is available online and KDOC says its public data updates daily except weekends.

Northwest Kansas Community Corrections is the regional supervision contact for Cheyenne County at 117 E. 13th Street, Hays, KS 67601, phone 785-625-9192. Kansas VINE provides automated county-jail status access at 1-866-574-8463 and TTY 1-866-847-1298. When an authoritative source identifies Sherman County Jail as the custodian, contact the Sherman County Sheriff at 813 Broadway, Goodland, KS 67735, phone 785-890-4800. None of these contacts should be used as a substitute for the office that created the requested record.
